Sisters Library receives Fused Glass Window

A BEAUTIFUL window created by one of our Artist's you haven't met yet, Ann Cavanaugh. Ann is a fused glass artist and she has done it again!
After a long and meandering journey this beautiful window makes it all worthwhile for everyone involved. Located above the west facing front doors leading into the library, the changes in light shining thru Ann's beautiful creation give it a life all of it's own.
Ann with Mary. Mary purchased the window to donate it to the Library and was instrumental in it's design.
It's Done! Complete! Finished! Stop by the Library and take a look.
Jim Anderson, Ann & her S.O. Barry Only a few people were invited to the installation. The window's dedication will be June 18th. Come on over!

Ain't nothin' but a Hound Dog!

This is Barbara Berry's version of Elvis' famous song! Isn't he cute? Barbara has been doing Custom Pet Portraits, (don't know why but that seemed to call for Capitol Letters!) for years now and has quite a collection under her belt.

Silver Prices continue to Rise!

We all know that the cost of silver has gone up right along with gas but did you know it's supposed to go up even more in the upcoming market? As quoted from "The Sovereign Investor": " A controversial new silver report insists silver prices are about to explode. Savvy investors are secretly waiting for silver to reach what they call ‘the profit point.’ Once silver prices hit this point, its going to return its owners windfall profits fast. Here’s why. In the past, a lot of investors got rich when silver went from $6 to $50 in one year. Average investors think silver’s already too high, but the truth is, the best time to get into silver is yet to come!" http://www.monex.com/images/charts/SB_LINE_1825DAY.PNG As quoted from "CoinTrackers": "The current price of Sterling Silver (anything) is $26.58 per Ounce (oz), or $0.94 Per Gram (g) Sterling silver is defined as 92.5% pure silver and is widely used in high end cutlery, jewelry, and pitchers. The other 7.5% is usually made of some other metal like copper. Most sterling silver pieces will have the word sterling somewhere on the bottom or back, as an example look at the photo adjacent of the back of a large sterling silver spoon." Hmmmmn. Maybe we need to do some investing? I believe a new pair of earrings are in order!!

SteamPunk is here, (n there n there n here n there). If you jus put that one word in an Etsy search
you will be astounded if you haven't searched it before! It's sum coolness.
Watch gears n parts, jewels, dragonflies, keys, old maps, butterflies, all things nautical and all things
kinda rusty pirarte qualify as Steam Punkish, as long as they are combined and piled all
over each other. According to Wikipedia;
Steampunk is a genre which came into prominence during the 1980s and early 1990s and
incorporates elements of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, horror, and speculative fiction.
It involves a setting where steam power is widely used—whether in an alternate history
such as Victorian era Britain or "Wild West"-era United States, or in a post-apocalyptic time —
that incorporates elements of either science fiction or fantasy. Works of steampunk often
feature anachronistic technology, or futuristic innovations as Victorians might have envisioned them,
based on a Victorian perspective on fashion, culture, architectural style, and art.
This technology includes such fictional machines as those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.

If you have any questions about a style or genre please contact us and we'll
do our best to research the subject and get back to you!   ~ jae
